Passport Delicious: I was wandering around Columbia Road on Sunday and while I was in one of the shops 'Vintage Heaven' I noticed that they had the cutest little cafe in the back.

The Skinny Bib: Theirs is the best I've ever tasted in my life. Very light, moist, with well-balanced cinnamon and the frosting that isn't too sweet. Other cakes are great, too. The not so amazing thing is their limited choice of tea and bottled juice, if you're THAT fussy about juice. And, you know, no matter how much you eat (within human capability), the bill will never exceed £10!! Also, once you finish your cuppa, go for a stroll for fresh flowers at hacked down prices on Columbia Road. Sundays only, though.

Vintage Macaroon: Cake Hole is a cosy place to have a break from the heaving crowds of Columbia Rd Flower market on a Sunday. It is also open on Saturday, which is much quieter, as you can see. I never leave Vintage Heaven without a rather large stash. I have heard husbands have banned their wives from the place! I will be impressed if you can come out empty handed.

Emerald Street: The staff are as charming as the flower-sellers outside, giving us free pina colada cupcakes when we had to wait more than 10 minutes. It feels like a genuine Fifties tea room, with packed-together seating and a friendly atmosphere.

Weekend Notes: This little place is a real charmer. The decor is busy and eclectic, in a good way, and the cakes and their mini cuppa varieties taste homemade. Also in a good way.

Clare's Cafe Chronicles: I first came across this tiny bolt hole offering coffee, cake and other tasty treats when shopping with my sister and have returned on a several occasions. The perfect, intimate venue for treating a pal to birthday afternoon tea or escaping the crowds of the Sunday flower market, I've always been more than satisfied with the cakes on offer and the heartily sized servings.
